Discover the wonders of nature on the Ria Formosa and be amazed and dazzled by this fragile and complex ecosystem considered to be one of Portugal's seven wonders.
Overview
Chill out and relax in a charming trip through the canals of the Ria Formosa where you can see its natural beauty. There will be a possibility of bird watching and also have time for diving, sunbathing and walks on the beach. We will make a stop in the the island of Culatra a fisherman’s village for lunch. The island have restaurants, snack-bar and cafes. You can also bring a pic nic for lunch if you prefer.
Observing Shell fish farms
One of the most important economic activity on the region can be seen during the tour. With 80% of sea food being produced here in the Ria Formosa.
Armona island
One of the most beautiful islands of the Natural Park of Ria Formosa.
Culatra island
With a very typical and genuine village of mostly fisherman that inhabit the island all year through, with lots of interest and cultural aspects.
Secondary Channels
The beautiful wild areas of the Ria Formosa Natural Park can be seen during the tour.
Bird Watching
Being the Natural Park an important I.B.A we will have the opportunity to see several types of birds that inhabit the park on the secondary channels.
Ria Formosa Natural Park
A complex lagoon system with a rich fauna and flora, considered one of the seven wonders of Portugal, a place to be visited and preserved.
Lunch Stop
On this tour we make a stop for lunch on Culatra Island where there is a wide variety of restaurants, snack bar and cafes to choose from for lunch. You can also bring a Pic Nic if you prefer to avoid the crowded restaurants.
Farol island
With the biggest inlet of water of all the Ria Formosa and being near the cape of Santa Maria, the most southern point of Portugal, these island has an extremely beauty marked by its imposing lighthouse.
